Take Your Startup to the Next Level

Recognized as a Leader, by Leaders, for Leaders

Empowering Startups

Your TI:GER team will work together over two semesters, taking classes on legal strategies to protect intellectual property, as well as market and financial analysis. Through TI:GER, you will have opportunities to work with companies at partner incubators and other institutions.

You will also have extensive opportunities to network with and receive mentorship from leaders in the technology business and legal communities. What’s more, MBA participants receive a fellowship during their TI:GER studies.

TI:GER graduates have developed successful startups and contributed an innovative approach to their roles at leading consulting firms and corporations. If admitted into the highly selective TI:GER program, you will join a team including MBA, PhD, and law students.

Commercializing Transformative Technologies

You and your TI:GER teammates will work together closely on commercializing scientific or technological research, learning what it takes to deliver innovative products to the marketplace.

The market-ready skill and knowledge you acquire through TI:GER can benefit you whether you seek to start your own venture or want to set yourself apart in the search for a fulfilling career.

Providing the Tools You Need For The Best Outcomes

TI:GER faculty is drawn from both Emory University School of Law and our partner institutions. Professors typically form strong bonds with the TI:GER teams and especially enjoy sharing their knowledge with TI:GER students who will use what they learn in class directly in their ongoing commercialization projects.

TI:GER is also supported by an active Industry Advisory Board, which consists of enthusiastic professionals – lawyers, investors, inventors, business executives – who offer guidance to TI:GER students and lend expertise in relevant disciplines. Industry Advisory Board members also serve as industry and legal mentors for the TI:GER teams, providing feedback and advice to each team at yearly presentations.

“One of the biggest benefits of TI:GER was the interdisciplinary nature of the teams. I now work in the product management group and constantly interact with the marketing, sales, legal, and technical teams on the development of new productions and initiatives.

TI:GER drilled us to understand ROI, mapping steps to market, and identifying risks. The intellectual property classes provided a great foundation for me, as I’m involved with the patent inventory in our business unit.”

Director of Network Services, McKesson's RelayHealth

“What I learned through TI:GER was instrumental in helping me launch my own company, which provides automated research and market intelligience to commercial real estate investors. I’ve used a lot of what we learned in class, including customer discovery and putting together a business plan.

TI:GER also introduced me to a wonderful network of leaders in the Atlanta tech community who have helped me build my business.”
